Matthew Nancarrow
Director-at-Large
Matthew C. Nancarrow born March 1984, served in the US Army from 2002-2005 as a member of the 101st Airborne Division 502nd Combat Infantry. He deployed to Iraq in 2003 as part of the invasion force. Matthew left military service in September 2005. From 2007 until 2012 he was self-employed providing housing information to investors. In 2012 he lost his brother (Jeffrey Nancarrow also a member of the 101st Air borne) to veteran suicide.
In 2015 Matthew worked with a local veteran’s group, the Fellowship of Brothers. This group focused on helping veterans cope with everyday life. Although, in his opinion the FOB was a success, the group stopped meeting in 2020. Matthew is currently an active Realtor working with Engle & Voelker’s. In July 2023 he was appointed by First District Supervisor Dos Williams to the Santa Barbara County Veterans' Services Commission.
